How do I create my first focus zone?

Open the app, tap the "Zones" tab, then tap the "+" button. You can either use your current location or search for a specific place. Set the radius, name your zone, and select which apps to block.

What permissions does ZoneBlock need?

ZoneBlock requires:

• Location ("Always"): To detect when you enter focus zones (required)
• Screen Time: To block selected apps and websites (required)
• Motion: For Driving Mode (optional)
• Calendar: For Meeting Focus (optional)
• Notifications: For zone and status alerts (optional)

Does ZoneBlock work in the background?

Yes! ZoneBlock uses geofencing technology to monitor your location even when the app is closed. You'll receive a notification when entering or exiting a zone.

Why does ZoneBlock need "Always" location access?

Zones use geofences that must keep working while the app is closed. With "While Using" access, ZoneBlock couldn't notice you arriving at a zone in the background. Your location stays on your device.

How do I block websites?

Edit a disabled zone, tap Websites, then add a domain (like example.com) or pick a preset such as Social Media, Video, News, Shopping, or Gaming. Blocking happens through Screen Time while the zone is active, in Safari and other browsers. Up to 50 domains can be active at once.

How do time schedules work?

Each zone can be limited to selected days and hours, for example weekdays 9:00-17:00. The zone only blocks during those times, and only while you are inside it.

What is Straight Mode?

Straight Mode is one-tap, instant blocking that doesn't need a location. It is available on the free plan. Turning it off is subject to the same 3-hour delay as zones.

Why can't I edit or turn off a zone right away?

To keep you committed, disabling or deleting an active zone, or turning off Straight Mode, is delayed by 3 hours with a live countdown. You can cancel the pending action at any time. Active zones can't be edited, which prevents bypassing the delay. If you need it done now, the optional "Immediate Action" purchase ($0.99) skips the wait.

What can I see in the zone details screen?

Tap a zone to view its radius, schedule, blocked apps and websites, and any pending action.

How does Driving Mode work?

Driving Mode uses motion sensors to detect when you're driving. Once detected, it automatically blocks distracting apps while keeping music and navigation apps accessible. You can customize which apps to block in Settings.

Can I use Meeting Focus with multiple calendars?

Yes! Premium users can select multiple calendars to monitor. The app will block apps during any meeting from your selected calendars.

How many zones can I create?

Free users can create 1 focus zone. Premium users get unlimited zones.

How does the free trial work?

New users get a 7-day free trial of Premium features. You won't be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial period without being charged.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → ZoneBlock → Cancel Subscription. You'll retain Premium access until the end of your billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open ZoneBlock → Settings → About → Restore Purchases. This will restore your Premium subscription if you've already purchased it.

What data does ZoneBlock collect?

ZoneBlock is privacy-first. All your data (zones, app selections, settings) stays on your device. We don't collect, store, or share any personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Is my location data shared?

No. Your location is only used locally on your device to trigger zone entry/exit. It's never sent to our servers or any third parties.

Apps aren't blocking when I enter a zone

Check the following:

• Location permissions are set to "Always"
• Screen Time permission is granted
• The zone is enabled (toggle in zone details)
• You've selected apps to block for that zone
• The current time is within the zone's schedule
• Background App Refresh is enabled for ZoneBlock

Websites aren't blocked

Check the following:

• The zone is active and you are inside it, within its schedule
• The domain is entered without https:// (for example example.com)
• Screen Time permission is granted to ZoneBlock

Blocking happens outside my scheduled hours

Update ZoneBlock to the latest version, then open the zone and re-save its schedule once.

Driving Mode isn't activating

Ensure:

• Motion permission is granted
• Driving Mode is enabled in Settings
• You've selected apps to block
• You're actually driving (not a passenger or in a bus/train)

Meeting Focus isn't working

Verify:

• Calendar permission is granted
• Meeting Focus is enabled
• You've selected calendars to monitor
• The meeting is in your selected calendars
• The meeting hasn't been marked as "Free" or "Available"
