Getting Started

How do I create my first focus zone?

Open the app, tap the "Zones" tab, then tap the "+" button. You can either use your current location or search for a specific place. Set the radius, name your zone, and select which apps to block.

What permissions does ZoneBlock need?

ZoneBlock requires:

  • Location: To detect when you enter focus zones
  • Screen Time: To block selected apps
  • Motion: For Driving Mode (optional)
  • Calendar: For Meeting Focus (optional)

Does ZoneBlock work in the background?

Yes! ZoneBlock uses geofencing technology to monitor your location even when the app is closed. You'll receive a notification when entering or exiting a zone.

Features

How does Driving Mode work?

Driving Mode uses motion sensors to detect when you're driving. Once detected, it automatically blocks distracting apps while keeping music and navigation apps accessible. You can customize which apps to block in Settings.

Can I use Meeting Focus with multiple calendars?

Yes! Premium users can select multiple calendars to monitor. The app will block apps during any meeting from your selected calendars.

How many zones can I create?

Free users can create 1 focus zone. Premium users get unlimited zones.

Subscription & Billing

How does the free trial work?

New users get a 7-day free trial of Premium features. You won't be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial period without being charged.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → ZoneBlock → Cancel Subscription. You'll retain Premium access until the end of your billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open ZoneBlock → Settings → About → Restore Purchases. This will restore your Premium subscription if you've already purchased it.

Privacy & Security

What data does ZoneBlock collect?

ZoneBlock is privacy-first. All your data (zones, app selections, settings) stays on your device. We don't collect, store, or share any personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Is my location data shared?

No. Your location is only used locally on your device to trigger zone entry/exit. It's never sent to our servers or any third parties.

Troubleshooting

Apps aren't blocking when I enter a zone

Check the following:

  • Location permissions are set to "Always"
  • Screen Time permission is granted
  • The zone is enabled (toggle in zone details)
  • You've selected apps to block for that zone
  • Background App Refresh is enabled for ZoneBlock

Driving Mode isn't activating

Ensure:

  • Motion permission is granted
  • Driving Mode is enabled in Settings
  • You've selected apps to block
  • You're actually driving (not a passenger or in a bus/train)

Meeting Focus isn't working

Verify:

  • Calendar permission is granted
  • Meeting Focus is enabled
  • You've selected calendars to monitor
  • The meeting is in your selected calendars
  • The meeting hasn't been marked as "Free" or "Available"
